AI for UGC campaigns: run the whole process faster with the UGC Slalom MCP

7 min read

Running a UGC campaign well means a lot of small jobs: writing a brief, comparing applicants, reading scripts, giving feedback on videos and, at the end, working out what actually performed. None of them is hard, but together they eat hours every week. AI is now good at exactly this kind of work, and UGC Slalom brings it into the process in two ways: AI features built into the platform, and an MCP connection that lets your own AI assistant work with your company account.

This guide explains what each one does, how to connect your assistant in a few minutes, and walks through a complete campaign from the first idea to the results report, with example requests you can copy.

Two ways AI helps inside UGC Slalom

The first is built into the platform and needs no setup. When you create an offer, the Brief step has a "Write with AI" button: you describe your product and, if you want, the goal of the video (brand awareness, sales, a product launch, community) or a style you have in mind, and the AI writes the video brief for you, live on screen. You read it, edit it and keep what works. The feature is available in the web app and in the mobile app. In the Statistics section, a second feature, "Get AI insights", analyses the stats of your videos and returns the main findings and concrete recommendations in your language.

The second is the UGC Slalom MCP. MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets an AI assistant connect to a service and use it with your permission. Once your assistant is connected, you can manage your UGC Slalom account by chatting: ask what needs your attention, prepare an offer, review a video, check your wallet. The assistant does the clicking and reading; you keep the decisions. For the short version, the MCP section on our home page shows how it looks in practice.

Connect your assistant in a few minutes

The MCP is available to verified companies on UGC Slalom. You only need an AI assistant that supports custom connectors (the plan of that assistant is your own). It works with Claude, ChatGPT or any other assistant that supports remote MCP servers with OAuth sign-in.

The steps are almost the same everywhere. In your assistant, open the connector settings (in Claude, Settings and then Connectors; in ChatGPT, Settings, Apps and Connectors, with developer mode switched on) and add a custom connector. Name it UGC Slalom, paste the server address https://mcp.ugcslalom.com/mcp and confirm. A UGC Slalom page opens: sign in with your normal company account and click Allow. Back in the chat, enable the UGC Slalom connector and you are ready. On team plans, a workspace owner may need to add the connector first.

A campaign with AI, step by step

Imagine you sell a new serum and want a few unboxing videos. Here is how the process looks with an assistant connected, one stage at a time.

Step one: prepare the offer

Instead of filling in the wizard from a blank page, describe the campaign to your assistant. A request like this is enough: "Prepare a draft offer for a thirty-second unboxing video of our new vitamin C serum. The audience is women between twenty-five and forty who care about skincare, in Spain." The assistant saves a draft in your account, chooses sensible creator options such as age ranges, languages and content types, and tells you what it picked so you can change it.

Then open the draft in UGC Slalom. In the Brief step, use "Write with AI" to generate the video brief, add the goal of the video and a style if you have one, and adjust the text until it sounds like your brand. A clear brief is the single biggest factor in getting usable videos, so this is where AI saves the most time. When you are happy, you review and pay for the offer in the web app, as usual.

Step two: choose the right creators

Once the offer is live, applications start to arrive. Ask your assistant: "Show me the applicants of my latest offer and recommend the best three." It looks at the applicants and the platform's recommended creators, compares them against your brief and explains its reasoning. You can also ask it to invite a creator who looks like a good fit, or to add someone to your favourites for future campaigns. For a refresher on what to look for, read our guide on how to find UGC creators.

Selecting a creator is an important decision, so the assistant never does it alone: it prepares the action and a UGC Slalom page asks you to click Confirm. You stay in control and nothing happens by surprise.

Step three: review scripts and videos

Reviews are where campaigns usually stall, because feedback waits in someone's inbox. With the connection, you can start your day with "Which of my offers need my action today?" and get a clear list, offer by offer, with the next step on each. When a script arrives, ask for a summary and a check against your brief, then approve it or send it back. When a video is delivered, you can say "Request a revision of the last video: the product should be visible in the first three seconds" and the request goes to the creator.

Approving content is also an important action, so it needs your Confirm click inside UGC Slalom. For a deeper look at the formats you can ask for, see our guide on types of UGC content.

Step four: read the results

When your videos are live, add their links in the Statistics section of UGC Slalom. From then on you can ask: "How did the videos of my last campaign perform?" and get views, reach and likes summarised in plain language, per video or for the whole campaign. In the app, the "Get AI insights" card goes one step further: it reads the numbers, points out what stands out and suggests what to do in the next campaign.

Group your offers into projects to compare campaigns over time. Your assistant can create projects, rename them and add offers to them, so the report for your next meeting is one question away. If you plan to use these videos as paid ads, our guide on UGC ads explains how to turn the best performers into campaigns.

Keep control while the AI does the heavy lifting

A few principles make this safe and predictable. Important actions (publishing an offer, selecting a creator, approving content) only run after you click Confirm on a UGC Slalom page. The AI cannot spend your budget on its own. The connection is only for verified companies of the platform, and you sign in with your own account.

AI also works best as a first draft. Read what it writes, adapt the tone and trust your own judgement about your brand. The goal is not to remove you from the process but to remove the waiting and the repetitive work around it.

Tips for better requests

Be specific about the product, audience and goal, because the assistant is only as good as the context you give it. Ask for one stage at a time and check the result before moving on. Use the same wording in your brief and in your feedback so creators get a consistent message. And start the day with the "what needs my action" question: it is the simplest habit that keeps campaigns moving.

If you are new to the platform, read what a UGC marketplace offers and how UGC works for businesses, then connect your assistant and run your first campaign with AI.
